How does an X-ray inspection machine work?
A x-ray product inspection detects all substances whose density differs significantly from the product being inspected. Contaminants with a density differential can include impurities, air bubbles, breaks, or other defects that can compromise the safety or integrity of a product.
What products are better suited to be inspected by an X-ray machine?
Possible reasons: uneven installation & loose feet, vibration transferred from upstream/downstream conveyor, residues on weighing platform, sensor dust/moisture aging, speed mismatch between adjacent conveyors causing pulling force. Solutions: level the machine, fix feet, clean platform, perform calibration, isolate vibration sources.
What contaminants can X‑ray machine detect? What cannot it find?
It detects metal fragments, glass shards, stone, hard plastic and bone fragments inside sealed products. Low‑density contaminants such as thin soft plastic, hair, thin paper cannot be reliably identified. Detection effect relates to contaminant size, density and product thickness.
Is X‑ray radiation safe for operators and food products?
Industrial food‑grade X‑ray inspection machine is fully shielded. Radiation leakage is far below international safety limits. Products passing through will not become radioactive. Operators do not need special radiation protective clothing under normal use.
What daily maintenance work should be done for X‑ray machine?
Every shift: clean conveyor belt and tunnel inner wall from food residues, avoid scratching X‑ray detector window. Weekly: check belt condition, tighten fasteners, run test samples for performance verification. Keep electrical cabinet dry. Do not disassemble radiation shielding components without authorization.
