What is a combined metal detector and checkweigher?
It is an all-in-one inline inspection machine integrating metal detection and dynamic weight checking. It can simultaneously detect metal contaminants and sort overweight, underweight or missing products in one conveyor pass, saving production line space and reducing equipment investment.
Can the combined machine work stably without interference between metal detection and weight checking functions?
Yes. The system adopts separated sensor modules and independent signal processing. Proper mechanical isolation and anti-interference design prevent the metal detector’s electromagnetic field from affecting the weighing sensor. Calibration is done separately for both functions to guarantee stable performance.
What are the main advantages compared with separate metal detector and standalone checkweigher?
It saves floor space, reduces conveyor transition sections and product jamming risks. Only one set of control system, frame and reject mechanism is needed, lowering purchase cost and maintenance workload. It also supports unified data recording of both metal contamination and weight non-conformity.
What products are suitable for this combined machine? Are there any packaging limitations?
Ideal for food, pharmaceutical, daily chemical and small packaged goods without aluminum foil packaging. Products with aluminum foil or metallized film packaging cannot be inspected by the metal detection part of this combo machine; X-ray machine is recommended for such packages.
How to perform calibration for this combined machine? Do I need to calibrate metal detector and checkweigher separately?
Yes, separate calibration is required. The checkweigher needs zero calibration and standard weight calibration on a daily basis. The metal detector needs sensitivity verification with standard test samples. Both calibrations can be finished on the touch screen without extra tools.
